My Journey into Caregiving Caregiving has always been a part of my life—it is not just a profession but a calling I was born into. My journey began with my grandmother, who played a significant role in shaping my passion for caring for others. Growing up, I lived with her and witnessed firsthand the responsibilities that come with providing care, especially for the elderly. Near our home, there was a motherless baby home, and from a young age, I found myself naturally drawn to helping there. I assisted in taking care of newborns, feeding them, changing them, and ensuring they were comfortable. My grandmother nurtured this caregiving spirit in me, and over the years, it became second nature. When my grandmother fell ill, I dedicated myself to caring for her. For three years, we practically lived in the hospital due to her terminal illness. It was during this time that I truly understood the depth of elder care. In the hospital ward, I met an elderly woman who had been abandoned by her children. Every morning, after tending to my grandmother, I would assist this woman—helping her to the toilet, bathing her, dressing her, and simply offering companionship to ease her loneliness. This experience ignited my deep passion for caregiving. Even after my grandmother passed away and the government took over the children’s home, I remained connected to the healthcare field. My relationship with the nurses in the hospital continued, and one of them suggested I consider formal training in healthcare. Though nursing was an option, I knew that caregiving was where my heart truly lay. Today, I am a certified caregiver and geriatric assistant, but more importantly, I bring real-life experience that surpasses mere certification. I have spent my life immersed in caregiving, and my practical knowledge often exceeds that of individuals who have been in the field for over a decade. I don’t just care for people—I understand them, advocate for them, and provide them with the dignity and comfort they deserve. As I continue this journey, I am eager to expand my impact by bringing my skills and passion to an environment where I can provide quality care, support, and dignity to those in
